A few weeks ago I had the absolute privilege of experiencing and incredible tour hosted by Matt and his cousin Mick from Djiriba Waagura. Djiriba Waagura (meaning ‘two crows’ in Dhurga Language) is an Indigenous tour operator based on the south coast of Sydney, the traditional home of the Yuin Nation.

Social Day Out

Have you ever taken part in a social day out? If not, why not? One of the difficulties I found travelling, particularly when I was single, is finding friends to travel with. A lot has to align. Firstly you need to find someone who wants to go to the same place. then they will need to have time off to go when you wish to go. You also need to have a similar budget. And you need to also have similar interests. There’s no point travelling with someone who prefers to relax when you want to be adventurous. Nor with someone who prefers hotels over camping or Michelin star restaurants over hole in the walls.

Christmas Mulled Wine

Well it tis the season! Oh Christmas, how we love you! There is so much about Christmas I love, with too many to list in one blog. Ok, I’ll sneak one in here… the smell of a real Christmas Tree (I’m sitting a couple of metres away from one now)! But if there is one wine related Christmas tradition, at least for us, then it’s Christmas mulled wine! Everything from making it, smelling it, drinking it and sharing it!

Southern Highlands Tour

Yesterday we did our first The Southern Highlands Tour, just south of Sydney and it was wonderful! It was an itinerary that was a little experimental but it worked, with a lovely combination of spectacular views, a cultural infusion, and of course, wine country (which we always love).
