Djiriba Waagura (meaning ‘two crows’ in Dhurga Language) is an Indigenous tour operator based on the south coast of Sydney, the traditional home of the Yuin Nation.

This is because a lot of my guests refer to our tour as a winery tour. And, on certain days it is…well, sort of. But it may not be. Very often it will simply be a wine tour. Summer 2021

Well, summer 2021 is nearly here, & fresh out of lockdown, who is keen to get out and explore the great outdoors!!!??? We are, that’s for sure. I’m sure it’s not news that it’s been a slooooow 18 months in tourism. But we are still here! It’s been a challenge and has involved a variety of new and interesting odd jobs to get us through. There has also been thoughts on ‘should we give this all up and pursue another industry?” however my love for tourism is as strong as it has ever been so I’m not ready to give up the reins yet!

Have you ever discovered a vineyard in a wine region who only sell their wines direct to the public? So once you are back home, you won’t see their wines in your local bottle shop or liquor store? The Hunter Valley is full of these smaller vineyards who sell exclusively from their cellar door. How do you access their wine once you have left the valley? By joining a wine club of course!

Social Day Out

Have you ever taken part in a social day out? If not, why not? One of the difficulties I found travelling, particularly when I was single, is finding friends to travel with. A lot has to align. Firstly you need to find someone who wants to go to the same place. then they will need to have time off to go when you wish to go. You also need to have a similar budget. And you need to also have similar interests. There’s no point travelling with someone who prefers to relax when you want to be adventurous. Nor with someone who prefers hotels over camping or Michelin star restaurants over hole in the walls.
