Hunter Valley Luxury Tours

Hunter Valley Luxury Tours

Hunter Valley Luxury tours are as popular as ever as guests are frequenting the Hunter Valley more and more. And they wish to be shown around in comfort as well as with an experienced operator. But what makes a tour a Hunter Valley Luxury Tour? I can narrow this down to 3 important elements. After all, this is what we do best! Here they are and how we do it!

Summer 2021

Well, summer 2021 is nearly here, & fresh out of lockdown, who is keen to get out and explore the great outdoors!!!??? We are, that’s for sure. I’m sure it’s not news that it’s been a slooooow 18 months in tourism. But we are still here! It’s been a challenge and has involved a variety of new and interesting odd jobs to get us through. There has also been thoughts on ‘should we give this all up and pursue another industry?” however my love for tourism is as strong as it has ever been so I’m not ready to give up the reins yet!

Joining a Wine Club

Have you ever discovered a vineyard in a wine region who only sell their wines direct to the public? So once you are back home, you won’t see their wines in your local bottle shop or liquor store? The Hunter Valley is full of these smaller vineyards who sell exclusively from their cellar door. How do you access their wine once you have left the valley? By joining a wine club of course!

  • How Many Vineyards Should We Visit?

How Many Is Too Many?

When I first started offering Hunter Valley wine tours, my initial plan was to visit as many vineyards as possible. One of the reasons why was because when I began approaching local travel agents in the hope that they might sell my tour, there first two questions were ‘How much?’ and ‘How many vineyards do you visit?’. Qantas Crew Day Out

What a brilliant day we had last Sunday with our Qantas Day Out. It was my wife’s official last day working with Qantas after 21 years. Like many, she was offered and accepted voluntary redundancy. It was a difficult decision and would leave behind an amazing career with a great company. So, along with a few of her Qantas colleagues we experimented with a Qantas tribute/farewell tour and it was so much fun! Perfect way to finish her Qantas chapter.

Picnic Lunch

A few weeks ago, we had a last minute group booking that wanted to experience a day trip to the Hunter Valley and include a gourmet lunch. It was a group of 10 so by this time, every venue I rang in the Hunter Valley was either booked out (for that group size) or had an available time that was either really early or super late. However the group had to eat somewhere! ‘Why don’t you organise a picnic lunch at a vineyard?’ my wife suggested. A great idea!

Goodbye 2020 – it’s been emotional

What a year for us all! In a way it’s a little odd that it is coming to an end. It’s been such a heavy year for many, and to think it will soon be over there can be a mixture of relief and nostalgia. A year certainly all of us will never forget. Goodbye 2020!

Christmas Mulled Wine

Well it tis the season! Oh Christmas, how we love you! There is so much about Christmas I love, with too many to list in one blog. Ok, I’ll sneak one in here… the smell of a real Christmas Tree (I’m sitting a couple of metres away from one now)! But if there is one wine related Christmas tradition, at least for us, then it’s Christmas mulled wine! Everything from making it, smelling it, drinking it and sharing it!

  • Southern Highlands Tour

Southern Highlands Tour

Yesterday we did our first The Southern Highlands Tour, just south of Sydney and it was wonderful! It was an itinerary that was a little experimental but it worked, with a lovely combination of spectacular views, a cultural infusion, and of course, wine country (which we always love).
