After more than 10 years of taking groups on Hunter Valley wine tours, I thought it might be nice to share a more personal perspective on my experiences. I have learnt a lot and met 1000’s of people from all over the world. It’s really been an amazing decade and I hope it continues for another. For over 10 years now I’ve been hosting groups to the Hunter Valley however it wasn’t until recently that I had the chance to take to the skies with an incredible Hot Air Balloon Experience with Balloons Aloft.

Djiriba Waagura
A few weeks ago I had the absolute privilege of experiencing and incredible tour hosted by Matt and his cousin Mick from Djiriba Waagura. Djiriba Waagura (meaning ‘two crows’ in Dhurga Language) is an Indigenous tour operator based on the south coast of Sydney, the traditional home of the Yuin Nation.
Where are the best Sydney beaches? We’ve long been researching a Sydney tour that we, as locals, believe can really show our visitors the immense beauty of Sydney’s wonderful nature. These scenic locations are not easily accessible without a vehicle. And so, they are often missed by the vast majority of our visitors.
What is the difference between a Hunter Valley winery tour and a wine tour? It’s something that comes up often enough and in all honesty, it’s usually me who brings up the issue. This is because a lot of my guests refer to our tour as a winery tour. And, on certain days it is…well, sort of. But it may not be. Very often it will simply be a wine tour. Or, more specifically, a vineyard tour!
